MediaPlayerLite is a feature-rich yet free media player that can play videos, music, DVDs, streams, and so on. It’s a powerful media player based on the open source Media Player Classic utility, therefore it also incorporates many of the features and benefits that lead to the popularity of the original tool.
In my opinion, the fact that it packs a huge number of options, functions and additional features is the main advantage of this comprehensive application. It can handle subtitles, playlists, controls’ customization, different viewing modes, and many other more. It also supports a large variety of multimedia file formats and can play the multimedia content from various sources, such as local files, DVDs, or even online streams.
Despite being comprehensive and feature-rich, MediaPlayerLite is also very easy-to-use. Its interface is simple, straightforward, intuitive, and can be used without any problem even by complete beginners.
The only thing that bothers me about this tool is the fact that its installer attempts to install many additional tools onto your system, and even change your default’s browser settings. This annoying adware-like behavior is very disappointing especially since it comes from a tool that advertises itself to be “free and open source”. It might be free, and it might be impressively powerful and feature-rich, but this unfair approach diminishes the positive impact of its qualities.
